“Fall”-ing Into the Rhythm of Music Class

It has been a joy getting to know our new preschoolers and reconnecting with our experienced preschoolers! In music, we’ve been having fun moving, dancing, playing, and singing. We also had MU musicians come to our fall preschool event on October 10th! Many kids got to try out instruments from the orchestra!

Here are the things we’ve been doing in class:

Action Songs: Head & Shoulders, Knees & Toes; The Wiggle Song; Bony Skeletons Walk

Pitch Exploration: Old MacDonald Had a Farm--make animal sounds; Naughty Kitty Cat; Practicing voice types--speaking, outside, whisper, singing; copy the slide whistle’s sound; Skin & Bones

Circle Games:  Walk, Walk, Walk, Walk; Our Gallant Ship; Sally Go Round the Sun

Movement Exploration: moving with scarves; making our bodies into shapes

Echo or Fill in the Blank Songs: Oh My! No More Pie!; Who Fed the Chickens

Instruments & Manipulatives: tambourines; scarves; triangles; shakers; they’ve strummed by ukulele & guitar, too!
