These Preschoolers are "SNOW" AMAZING!!

This winter we've been having "snow" much fun singing, dancing, and playing instruments!! They work together and have fun.

“Fall”-ing Into the Rhythm of Music Class

It has been a joy getting to know our new preschoolers and reconnecting with our experienced preschoolers! In music, we’ve been having fun moving, dancing, playing, and singing. We also had MU musicians come to our fall preschool event on October 10th! Many kids got to try out instruments from the orchestra!

Here are the things we’ve been doing in class:


Fingerplays:  Itsy Bitsy Spider; 5 Little Mice; Grandma’s Glasses; Spider on the Floor

Action Songs: Head & Shoulders, Knees & Toes; The Wiggle Song; Bony Skeletons Walk

Pitch Exploration: Old MacDonald Had a Farm--make animal sounds; Naughty Kitty Cat; Practicing voice types--speaking, outside, whisper, singing; copy the slide whistle’s sound; Skin & Bones

Circle Games:  Walk, Walk, Walk, Walk; Our Gallant Ship; Sally Go Round the Sun

Movement Exploration: moving with scarves; making our bodies into shapes

Echo or Fill in the Blank Songs: Oh My! No More Pie!; Who Fed the Chickens

Instruments & Manipulatives: tambourines; scarves; triangles; shakers; they’ve strummed by ukulele & guitar, too!

Welcome to Preschool Music 25-26

 Welcome Title 1 Preschool families,

I am so excited to see our returning friends and meet our new friends! I am Ms. J and I'll see all my friends once a week to do some music. I have some helpful links here that have my class schedule (where I am and when I'm there), a document with lyrics to the songs I use in class, and a Spotify playlist that has songs I use in class.

Spring-ing into Kindergarten

 What a fun spring we’ve had! Our small musicians have grown so much over the year. We’ve had a lot of fun and I will be sad to see all our new kindergarten students go. I know they will have so much fun and grow even more with their elementary music teachers!! Here’s what we learned this spring:
